St Nicholas church enjoys a warm relationship with the school. As well as regular visits to the church for collective worship and festivals, and class visits for their curriculum studies, the village incumbent leads collective worship every fortnight, and offers support to staff and children where needed.
The church, though special donations and a small historic charity, provide support funds for various trips and activities, as well as books for the library and a subscription to a wildlife magazine. We provide “It’s Your Move” books for every school leaver, and Messy Church activities are advertised through the school newsletter and on the separate church noticeboard in the main school corridor.
We are collaborating with the school Eco-group, which extends into the village, and hope this link might develop further.
The church is well represented alongside our village Baptist church on the governing body, and together seek to develop the Christian heart of the school.
