On behalf of the Governing Body, welcome to Radford Semele Church of England Primary School.
At Radford Semele C of E Primary school we are ‘a family of learners expecting the best’, and this theologically rooted Christian vision underpins everything we do. Governors, staff, parents, children, members of our church and our whole school community work together in a happy, creative and high attaining environment. Our key values of respect, creativity, perseverance, forgiveness, responsibility and generosity are our guiding principles in living out our vision in every aspect of school life. Jesus said, ‘I have come that they may gave life and have it to the full’. John 10:10, and we seek to see this become a reality for our children and whole school community.
Governors are appointed to ensure that the school sets challenging but achievable strategic objectives and that these objectives are met and have the desired impact, in order that our children are as successful as they can be in all aspects of school life. We are focussed not only on academic attainment and progress, but also on the ensuring an exciting and rich experience full of opportunities for all our children have in our school.
The Governing Body provides strategic direction for the school, and we monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the school, holding school leaders to account for the standards achieved and the quality of education provided to all our children.
Specifically, the Governing Body is responsible for:
In practice, this means that we are a regular presence in and around school.
As a Governing Body we are committed to ensuring that every one of our children has access to an enriching education and fulfils their potential. We are justifiably proud of the achievements of our children across the curriculum and of the high standards maintained in both learning and behaviour.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank our staff, parents and wider school community for the support, encouragement and opportunities they give our children and the school. This support gives our children opportunities for a richer education, and ensures our school has a strong connection with our local community, particularly our church. Together, we ensure our children thrive today and in the future.
We are striving to continuously improve all aspects of school life and to fulfil our vision of being a family of learners expecting the best. By doing this we will ensure that all members of our community have life and have it to the full. ‘I have come that they may have life and have it to the full’. John 10:10.
I am available to parents, carers, visitors and members of our school community to discuss any matter relating to the school, and I am always delighted to receive feedback regarding our school and I can be contacted via the school secretary.
Please take the time to browse our school website, including the governors’ section where you will learn more about our school.
With my warmest regards,
Cara Jenkins
