Moving Forward Group

We have an active group who are focused on the Christian distinctiveness of our school. The Moving Forward Group meets once a half term and is made up of our head teacher, RE and SIAMS lead teacher, our foundation governors, the vicar from St Nicholas' church and our chair of governors.

Our focus

Who are we? What are we doing here? How then shall we live?

We use the SIAMS self-evaluation tool in order to support our discussions. We explore this by focusing on the seven inspection questions:

How does the school’s theologi­cally rooted Christian vision enable pupils and adults to flourish?

How does the curricu­lum reflect the school’s theologically rooted Chris­tian vision?

How is collective worship enabling pupils and adults to flourish spiritu­ally?

How does the school’s theologi­cally rooted Christian vision create a culture in which pupils and adults are treated well?

How does the school’s theologically rooted Christian vision create an active culture of justice and responsibility?

Is the religious education curriculum effective (with reference to the expectations set out in the Church of England’s Statement of Entitlement for Religious Educa­tion)?

We discuss our actions as a church school, the impact these actions have, and make decisions about next steps in order to move forward in any identified area.
