Nativity

We all loved taking part in the Nativity performance. We worked together to write our own version of the Christmas story and learnt lots of songs and dances. We enjoyed performing to our grown-ups and all the adults in school are very proud of the children. 

 

Children in Need non-uniform day

Reception children learnt about the charity organisation Children in Need and some of the ways that the money we raised by wearing non uniform is used to help other children be safe, happy, healthy and cared for. 

Road Safety

Warwick Bear visited Reception class and told us all about how to cross the road safely. We played games, learnt the 6 important things to remember, listened to a story and sang a song. 

Odd Socks Day 

Lots of the children in Reception wore odd socks today to mark the start of anti-bullying week. We talked about our school rule - kind - and what this means. We thought about what we should do if we need help to sort out a problem. 

Our Theatre Trip

We all had a fabulous time at the theatre. We went to see The Gruffalo's Child and everyone enjoyed watching the actors tell the story. We particularly liked being able to join in with the actions and hearing the songs. 

Fireworks

We found out about Bonfire Night and why it is celebrated. We watched a fireworks display and then made our own firework pictures. We added metallic paint to black paper inside a salad spinner - we then spun it to make our picture.  We then thought about the sounds that fireworks make and had a go at writing these. 

 

Have you filled a bucket today?

We have been exploring the impact we can have on each other, and have been trying to fill each other's buckets as often as we can. 

 

Autumn Poems

We have been learning different Autumnal poems. 

 

 

Our Cosy Corner 

We enjoy sharing stories in our class. Everyone has lots to say about the books at story time. We talk about whether we like the book, our favourite parts, compare the book to other stories we've read, highlight parts of the story that have made us laugh, talk about the author, etc... We have enjoyed lots of stories already. 

Our First Day

We have all had lots of fun exploring our new environment and getting to know each other.
