Happy New Year.
We hope you all had a relaxing Christmas holiday and are all safe and well. We have been busy in school getting ready for your return but now sadly it doesn't look like we will be seeing you. Until further notice please access this week's learning by following the 'Home learning' icon. You will find a daily reading task and daily Maths activity. There are two writing tasks, two theme activities, one spag and one science.
We will be in touch shortly.
During our recent parent telephone calls, some parents asked about ideas to support their child with maths at home, aswell as completing their maths homework pages.
We would recommend quick fire questions asked in a fun way that focus on speedy recall of pairs to 10, then pairs to 20, mental maths addition and subtraction within 20 (eg 7 + 12=, 18 - 5 =) and multiplication and division facts for the 2, 5 and 10 times tables.
Below are links to websites that you may wish to look at for further games and ideas.
If you have any questions please ask.
Dragon Sighting!
Year two have discovered a mysterious egg in the school forest. There have since been sightings of a baby dragon so we advise that if you see an unusual flying animal, please do not approach it!
The children have worked hard to create a class assembly video introducing our new whole school value 'Hope'. If you would like to watch the video, please follow this internal link to the video resource centre where you will find it in the 'Class Collective Worship' folder.
Enjoy!
This week the children have been learning about 'Protective behaviours'. Please click on the links below for further information. There are a few photos to show the activities the children have taken part in to learn about keeping ourselves safe.

It has been great to welcome Year 2 back to school and we've already had a brilliant week and a half together. Please keep an eye on this class web page as it is where we will share information about how best to support learners in Year 2, plus we'll be sure to keep you up to date with what we've been up to at school.
For any information on homework in Year 2 please see the letter below. If you have any further questions please do get in touch (our email addresses can be found at the top of this page).
PE lessons for Year 2 will be on a Wednesday and Friday. Please ensure your child has a full PE kit in school ready to use.
