Miss Warren and Mrs Skipper

Thank you!

Thank you for our all the lovely presents and kind words - we really appreciate it! It has been so lovely teaching your children this year and watching them grow. Have a lovely summer and we will see you on the playground in September!

P.S. If you haven't seen it, have a look at our learning celebration on the video resource centre.

We had an amazing time on Sports Day!

Beach Day

Wow! What an amazing day we've had! We've been so busy with beach activities today from building sandcastles to designing a bathing machine for the Victorians. You can look at some of the things we've been getting up to below! We've put on puppet shows, decorated a beach flag and found out about Victorians at the beach...

We've been making some underwater pictures. We used different materials to create interesting textures to show the sea and seaweed.

We had a great time at our dance lesson!

We've been learning about shape poems and came up with a brilliant poem as a class! Can you guess what it's about?

We had a fun Red Nose Day in Year One!

Year One had a great visit from the Fire Service! We learnt about staying safe and how to do Stop, Drop and Roll

Year One have had such a lovely time this week getting ready for Christmas - we've recorded a performance, spoken to Father Christmas, crafted lots of lovely things and watched a pantomime!

Thank you so so much for your cards and gifts, it really is so kind of you and we are very grateful. We hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and look forward to seeing you all again in 2021!

Year One have had a great afternoon learning about Christingles before making their own!

Our theme this term is "Myself, My Family and My Home" and so we have been creating self-portraits in the style of Andy Warhol.

Black History Month

As part of Black History Month, we have been learning about some influential Black Britons in our reading and PSHE. We spoke about their lives and achievements as a class together. Here are some of the things we said after our discussion!

"It doesn't matter what colour skin you have!"

"We should celebrate this [Black History Month]"

"It's not fair that he wasn't treated the same."

"No, he should have been treated like everyone!"

Protective Behaviours

We have been thinking about how to keep ourselves safe this week by learning about Protective Behaviours. We have considered our Early Warning Signs as well as taking part in role play!

The Three Little Pigs

As part of our learning, we have been building houses for The Three Little Pigs! We've also been busy acting out the story with our partners, before showing our scenes to the rest of the class.
