There is a phonics activity to complete at the start of the week, followed by two shorter writing tasks. Please complete the Theme work first, as it leads in to these tasks.
When a writing task has been completed, encourage your child to edit their work. This involves checking for capital letters and full stops, as well as finger spaces and phonetically plausible spellings.
There are also spellings for your children to learn and handwriting to practise should you wish to do them. These are just available as an optional extra, or as a way for your child to work on their fine motor skills.
A suggested timetable:
Monday - Phonics activity
Tuesday - Theme
Wednesday - Writing Task 1
Thursday - Writing Task 2
Please make sure you have completed the Theme presentation first, as the information will be useful for the writing tasks. You may also want to watch all of or part of 'The Beach - Magic Grandad' to see more about Victorian seasides. Please be aware that the video is on YouTube and so there may be adverts.
