Good morning Year 6. Today you will need to complete your final maths and reading activitiy of the week and then you are free to select from the various VE Day activities. It would be great if you could complete a couple of these and, as always, feel free to share your work and photos with me! Have fun!
I have received lots of lovely photos of work and VE Day activities today. Tudor has been working hard on his writing task and has had a picnic in the garden. Riley has completed his science task and has been having fun making spitfires, designing a medal and writing morse code messages for his Dad. Lennon has also been working hard and enjoying writing messages using morse code. Charlie has written a detailed information text on the Galapagos Islands and he has also completed his Journey to Jo'burg story. Brayden has also completeted his story and been enjoying the morse code VE Day activities. What a busy day! I hope you all have a lovely Bank Holiday weekend, please don't forget to send in pictures of your VE day activities!

I hope you are all well and that you are looking forward to doing some VE day activities tomorrow! I have been really proud of how enthusiastic you have all been about our new theme, the work I have received has been fantastic! Eirwen has written an incredible continuation of chapter 1 of Journey to Jo'burg! She researched the country and the wildlife to ensure her writing was detailed and accurate. Imogen has also sent me her chapter 1 of the book - she has used lots of super vocabulary and her presentation is amazing! Taylor and Riley have been busy completing a range of the work this week including theme, reading, writing and science - well done boys! Scarlett has emailed me a beatifully presented and well researched double page spread on Apartheid. Poppy has worked incredibly hard on both her Nelson Mandela biography and her double page spread - the double page spread became three and a half pages rather than two! Leilani has produced some beautifully presented and very eye-catching work on the Galapagos Islands! You are all working so hard year 6, I am one very proud teacher!

I hope you are all ok and are enjoying the return of the sunshine! It has been great to receive some super pieces of work in the last few days. Eva has written a super Nelson Mandela biography and Tudor has produced his well researched biography as a powerpoint! As many of you will know, Friday marks 75 years since VE day. I wonder if anyone is having their own stay at home street party? If you are, you could always dress up in your evacuee outfit like you did for our World War 2 learning celebration!
