Week Beginning 4th May

4th May

Good morning Year One. I hope had a lovely weekend and are ready to get back to work. There's some new Home Learning for you as well some exciting ideas for how you could celebrate VE Day at home. Have a look for some book reviews in our Reading Corner and remember to send in your own! Erin's been keeping very busy while at home. She's been baking some yummy cakes with George and has been watching her plants grow! Elyssa's written a lovely postcard and she took part in a maths treasure hunt - wow! Austin's worked so hard on his senses poem and he's done a great job. Well done Austin! Amara's been doing lots of Science work - as well as looking out for plants and watching them grow, she's also been doing her own experiments and has made a fantastic lava lamp!

If you have any questions about the new work or get stuck, please email me.

5th May

Good morning Year One. It's been lovely to see the work you've been doing at home and other activities you've been up to. A few of you have sent in book reviews to our Reading Corner and I've loved reading them! Austin has been doing some great Maths work, using an umbrella as a metre stick to measure his house. Beren's beach collage is lovely - he's used a painted background with sandpaper for the beach as well as using other objects to create it! Gerrard's worked so hard on his senses poem and has done a super job! Can you work out what senses he's using throughout? I'm really glad to see that Joshua's been enjoying storytime, I hope the rest of you have too!

6th May

Good morning Year One. There's been some brilliant work sent in to me today, as well as a new book review for our Reading Corner. Ella-Grace has made a lovely beach scene, as well as getting creative with her family and singing to some iSingPOP songs! Gerrard's worked hard on his Maths and has done brilliantly with his measuring - well done, Gerrard. Megan has spent some time looking at different kinds of trees and did a great job finding them on the list. Elyssa's also been looking at the trees, and has made some lovely wax rubbings of the different kinds of leaves. As well as taking part in her own leaf hunt, Rosie's also been working on a wonderful VE Day poster and some colouring to get ready for the celebration!

7th May

Good morning Year One. Well done for all the learning you've done this week - it's been lovely to hear what you've been getting up to and see such wonderful pictures of your work. Amara's found lots of leaves from her tree hunt and has been getting very creative this week. She's made some great artwork and has been doing some Egyptian excavation! Elliot's worked really hard on his sounds and has done a brilliant job. He's also made an amazing medal for VE Day celebrations - the Sword Medal for Courage!
