Movement happens because of forces. We can’t see the forces but we can see the effect that they are having.

 

If possible, explore your own bike. Look closely at how you make the bike move, stop, slow down and speed up.

If you don’t have access to a bike then you may like to watch the clips below. The first clip one is a short Maddie Moate clip about how bicycles work. The second clip explores different parts of a bike in detail. You will only need to watch the first two minutes of this clip.

 

Make an instruction booklet for younger children on ‘How to use a bike’. Please email pictures of these to Mrs Gott (corkill.h@welearn365.com) so they can be shared with the children in Reception.
