Read the story ‘Shopping Shambles’. You will then plan and carry out an investigation to compare how different things move. Choose 4 items (it doesn’t have to be ones from the story) which you will then roll down a ramp. Make a prediction about which will travel the furthest. You could make your ramp using wood, cardboard, a large book, a slide – it’s up to you.
Measure how far each item travels. You could measure this distance using a ruler, a tape measure or even a non-standard unit of measure (any object e.g. a pencil, lollypop stick, lego brick) as long as you keep it the same for each item.
Complete the results table and record which item went furthest and why.
