Our Learning Celebration
The children had so much fun working with their grown ups to design and create a boat that floats. We were impressed to see well decorated sails, oars, anchors, helms, cannons, fishing rods and even a wind turbine!
We have started to get changed for our PE lessons. Everyone enjoyed trying out the different exercises that were part of our circuit training. Please make sure your child has a full PE kit in school on a Thursday. Don't forget to name everything!
This week, we have been learning about the Easter story and different Easter traditions. We have enjoyed lots of activities - hot cross bun tasting, creating our own Easter garden, making a flower cross, a very exciting visit from the Easter bunny and meeting a newborn lamb.
All the children will be learning about 'Protective Behaviours' in four PHSE lessons this week.

Science Week - Curly Wurly Challenge
We had so much fun taking part in the Curly Wurly Challenge for Science Week. The children worked in teams to see how far they could stretch a Curly Wurly without it breaking. We are looking forward to finding out how the rest of the children in school have done with this challenge. Our longest Curly Wurly was 50cm!
We all enjoyed the story Mr Wolf's Pancakes, by Jan Fearnley. We wrote our own shopping lists for the ingredients needed to make pancakes. We weighed and measured the ingredients and worked together to make them. Everyone enjoyed tossing the pancakes! We had fun doing our pancake races - although it was hard to toss a pancake and run at the same time. We loved eating our delicious pancakes.
We have enjoyed the different Oi Frog! stories. We have created our own rhyming strings using animals from the stories. We have chosen an animal and have thought about a rhyming object that our animal could sit on. We had a go at painting some of these too.
We have been learning about pulse - the heartbeat - of a piece of music. We listened to a piece of music and had a go at finding the pulse in lots of different ways e.g. tapping our knees, clapping, nodding our heads, waving etc... We learnt two simple songs and tried to sing them and keep the pulse at the same time.
