                  World Book Day!

We enjoyed going to the book swap and choosing a new book to take home

                    Pancake Day

We have had SO much fun today. The children worked together to make pancakes and then absolutely loved taking turns to toss the pancakes - we tried to get them to touch the ceiling!

The children enjoyed our pancake races, although it was quite tricky to run whilst tossing pancakes!
We all enjoyed fresh pancakes at the end of the day - these ones hadn't been on the ceiling, our shoes, the floor, our arms...

           Our Outdoor Classroom

The children have been really enjoying the improvements to our outdoor area. They have worked hard with the planting over the last couple of days. Special thanks to BPS and Hintons of Warwick for their generous donations of resources needed to make these improvements.

                  Safer Internet Day

We talked about some of the ways we might use the internet and we learnt how to keep ourselves safe when we're online. We focused on the following key messages:

  • Ask a grown up before you go on the internet.
  • Tell a grown up if you see something you don't like on the screen.
  • Tell a grown up if someone tries to talk to you.
                     Carol Singing
All of the children enjoyed our carol singing. We visited each classroom, the dinner ladies, Mrs Clarke in the office and Mrs Benson. We hope the parents enjoyed hearing the carols at the end of the day. We have raised over £60 for Save the Children. Thank you for supporting us.
           Christmas with the Aliens

We are SO proud of all of the children in Reception.

They did a fantastic job during our performances - such super singing and dancing!

We learnt about Bonfire Night and why we celebrate it. We watched a firework display on the internet. We all had a go at making our own firework paintings using glitter paint and a salad spinner!
Diwali - Making Mango Lassi
St Philips Centre - Faith Roadshow
We all enjoyed going to the Faith Roadshow on Tuesday. It was lovely to see so many different artefacts, traditional dress, art work, special books...

                               Pumpkin Soup

Everyone enjoyed making pumpkin soup. We had a go at writing down the ingredients needed. We all worked together to scoop, peel and chop the pumpkins.

We have had a super first morning in Reception and are really looking forward to the rest of the week!
