You will have received an email that explains you are now able to access the Big Cat Collins reading books online. The instructions for how to do this are in the email from the school office. We have had reports that this site is not mobile phone friendly, so try to use a tablet, PC or laptop if possible.
Once you have logged in, you will be able to access the reading scheme and resources. Please ensure you select the reading band your child was working within at school - if you would like to check this, please email Mrs Gott and Miss Hanton and we will be able to help you.
Read each of the books a number of times, working on the skills of fluency and expression. Take time to ask your child various questions about different aspects of the book such as the story and characters, tricky vocabulary and the use of punctuation.
Children should continue to read for 5-10 minutes a day. Here are a selection of resources and programmes that can be used to support this:
Children should continue to practise their phase 2 and 3 tricky words. These can be found in the writing section of the home learning page.
Please read to your child at least once a day – they might want to join in with some of the words, or the parts of the story they are familiar with.
