Maths

To start your maths learning each day, work your way through one of the 'Fluent in Five' pages. These will help you practise your mental and written calculation skills. On Friday, complete the short arithmetic test to consolidate your learning for the week.

Fluent in 5 (5-a-day) Starter

Then, access the presentation slides or video which explain the learning we would be doing in class. Once you have spent some time on the learning, move to the 'Questions' PDFs where you can choose your level of challenge. I have also included the 'Challenges', just like we would do in class. The answers are on the final pages of both documents for you to see how you are getting on when you have completed the tasks.

Monday - Introduction to Perimeter

This week in Maths, we are learning all about Perimeter. Watch my video to introduce our new unit and then use the PowerPoint to continue your learning - use a piece of paper to practise answering the questions from the PowerPoint (PDF format). Once complete, move onto the Questions and Challenges.

Tuesday - Perimeter of a rectangle

Wednesday - Draw shapes of a given perimeter

Today, you will be drawing some shapes and finding the perimeter. Make sure you use a ruler and a sharp pencil. Watch the video from Oak National Academy to help your learning and then move onto the Activities for today.

Thursday - Perimeter of rectilinear shapes

Friday - Arithmetic test, 99 Club and TTRS

Today, please complete the Arithmetic test for this week and then mark your answers using the answer sheet at the back! Once complete, please do your 99 Club for the week and don't forget to record your score. Then, move onto any of the optional Maths extras on the Class Page (e.g. TTRS, MyMaths, Topmarks).
