Create your own Vikings narrative (story) - creative writing. Choose one of the following to write about:
1) A Viking story about the Battle of Edington and being defeated by the Anglo-Saxons (878 AD)
or
2) A Viking raid story about the Lindisfarne attack (783 AD)
You must include exciting adjectives, fronted adverbials, direct speech, expanded noun phrases and you may want to include onomatopoeia, personification, similes and metaphors.

Self-assess your creative writing narrative about the Vikings. Using a different colour (e.g. purple pen or pencil), go back through your work and edit it to make it even better. What language features/techniques did you include? Are there any that you didn't use and can add into your writing? Read your writing out loud and practise fluency and tone of voice.
