Grammar:
This week, we will be learning how to create images using prepositions to express time, place and cause.
Watch Ms Brown's video lesson explaining the learning. Then complete the writing frame to practise writing prepositional phrases and noun phrases (by adding adjectives to the nouns, like we learned about in Grammar last week). The writing frame has been colour-coded to remind you to use both adjectives (green) and prepositional phrases (blue). The black lines are for verbs.
Spellings:
This week’s spellings are words made adding suffixes beginning with a vowel (er/ed/ing/en) to words with more than one syllable. The rule is that, if it has a stressed last syllable, double the final consonant. Have a look at the spelling powerpoint to learn more. Make sure you know the meaning of each word and can use them in a sentence!:
forgetting
forgotten
beginning
beginner
preferred
preferring
occurred
occurring
forbidden
committed
It would be great if you can practise them over the course of the week and test yourself, or ask an adult to test you, on Friday or over the weekend.
