Grammar and spellings

Grammar:

This week in Grammar and in Writing, we will be learning more about how to include speech or dialogue in our writing, using the correct punctuation.

Watch Ms Brown's video explaining the learning. Then, read through the extract and highlight the dialogue in each paragraph. Remember to look for the speech marks! Can you spot the reporting clauses too?

Spellings:

This week’s spellings are words where the negative meaning has been created using prefix dis-. Have a look at the spelling powerpoint to learn more. Make sure you know the meaning of each word and can use them in a sentence!:

dislike

disobey

discolour

discover

disappear

dishonest

disallow

disbelieve

disapprove

discontinue

Practise them over the course of the week and test yourself, or ask an adult to test you, on Friday or over the weekend.
