This week we'll be looking at using powerful verbs and how we can improve our writing by uplevelling our word choice!
This week, you'll be using your spellings for handwriting. You should write each word at least three times, taking your time and focusing on the joins.
Once you've done your handwriting, have a look at the presentation below as well as the example texts. You'll be looking for ways to build tension in a piece of writing, ready to have a go yourself later on in the week!
Today we're going to be looking closer at "show, don't tell" using synonyms and a character's body language to show how they're feeling and acting.
Please ask a grown-up to test you on this week's spellings before starting to learn the ones for next week. You can find them in the Spellings part of the class page as usual.
After you've completed your spellings, have a look at the presentation below and start planning the ending to 'Krag and the Beast'.
You're going to be writing the next part of 'Krag and the Beast' today, once you've been through the presentation. Don't worry if you don't finish the story; it's more important that you focus on the suspense features in your writing. Think carefully about the verbs you're going to use and how you're going to show what Krag is feeling.
