Alternative Spellings and Handwriting (only for those pupils who usually receive alternative spellings from Mrs Ainsworth)

Spellings for this week:

Adding -ed, -er and -est to a word ending in -y with a consonant before it.

Watch the powerpoint and begin to learn your spellings. You will have a chance to practise your spellings on Day 3 and you will need to ask an adult to test you on Day 5.

No need to print the handwriting sheet. It can be done on a sheet of paper.

Have another go at practising your spellings. Complete the word search. You could also use the strategy 'look, cover, write, check' to practise them by yourself. If you are unable to print the sheet, try making your own word search using the same spellings.

Complete the handwriting sheet (this is the same sheet as Day 2).

Choose four words and write a sentence for each. Try and think of four interesting sentences which: begin in a different way, contain a range of punctuation and interesting vocabulary choices. Make sure your handwriting is well presented.
