Week beginning 23rd March

Friday 27th March 2020

Good morning, your work today is to complete the next page of numeracy and SPAG. Your reading activity is to read for pleasure for 20 minutes, perhaps you could also write a book review telling the class about your favourite book or a character description of one of the characters from the book you are currently reading. When you have completed the book reviews or character descriptions, please email me a copy and I will share it on the school website!

(Friday pm)

Well done Year 6, you have made it to the end of your first week of home learning! You have all worked so hard and I am really proud of every single one of you. Mrs Kumari and I are missing you all and it has been great to speak to so many of you over the last couple of days. Thank you so much for all the emails and photographs today - Poppy has written a super character description of Stig from Stig of the Dump, Scarlett has written a detailed description of the character Opal from Artemis Fowl, Tudor has made an informative powerpoint about the Victorians, Eva has helped build a trampoline and has been learning new skills, she has also been busy taking close up photos of nature and Ibrahim has been making information posters and working hard on his home learning! What an incredibly busy day you have all been having! Well done for everything you have accomplished this week year 6 and have a great, and restful, weekend (you too parents)!

Thursday 26th March 2020

Good morning all. Hope you are getting on well with your work. Please complete the next page of the numeracy, SPAG and reading. Please remember to email me if you have any difficulties. I have attached the answers to yesterday's work below.

It was lovely to chat to some of you on the phone today and hear about what you have been up! I will be contacting everyone else tomorrow and can't wait to hear how you have been spending your time. Isaac told me that he had been doing some baking. He emailed some photographs to show me - what a delicious looking cake! Hope you enjoyed eating it too Isaac. It was lovely to hear from Leilani today - she has been out walking, helping her Mum with some DIY and she finished the day showing her support for the NHS and clapping on her door step. Well done Leilani!

Good morning. It's another lovely day and I hope you are all managing to get some fresh air in the garden as well as working through your home learning pack. Remember to complete the next page of your numeracy and SPAG work and the next page in your Ancient Greeks booklet. The fraction work is a little tricky, please let me know if you need any help. Please find the answers to yesterday's work below. Keep up the great work Year 6!

Lots of you have had another busy day! Scarlett has been baking lemon and poppy muffins. They look absolutely delicious and I hope she saved one for me! It is great to see how much Taylor has been enjoying his home learning pack - look at the super presentation of his work. He has also been enjoying decorating the garden! Tudor has been busy creating an animation on Scratch, well done Tudor!  Year 6 - please remember to contact me using a parent's email address.

Tuesday 24th March 2020

Hope you all enjoyed your first day of home learning yesterday. It was very quiet in the classroom without all of year 6 being there! Your mission today is to complete the second part of rounding numbers and expanded noun phrases, your reading activity is to find the definitions for the vocabulary in your Ancient Greece reading pack.

Remember to keep me posted about any extra learning you have been doing or any new skills you have been learning.

I will be in touch with each of you soon to see how you are getting on. Take care of yourselves.

Poppy has been busy doing some extra learning at home - she has produced an informative and beautifully presented double page spread about giraffes. It is great to hear how engaged you have been with your learning Poppy, keep up the great work! I was also really pleased to hear how busy Katie has been. She has been working hard on her home learning pack and has been out exercising in the garden. Thank you so much for the photos Katie, it is great to see your golfing skills in action and your talent for skipping whilst on a trampoline!
